Resident Evil 9 director's vision: To scare the shit out of players
Previously, Capcom confirmed that they are developing "Resident Evil 9", the new director is producer Hiroshi Nakanishi, who has been involved in the development of "Resident Evil 5", "Resident Evil: Revelation" and "Resident Evil 7".
Hiroshi Nakanishi talks about his philosophy as a developer and his vision for Resident Evil 9. Prior to the release of Resident Evil 7, he reportedly felt that the series had "gone off the rails", much to the disappointment of fans. So he's trying to bring the series back to its roots and really scare fans.
So in Resident Evil 7, Nakanishi chose a first-person perspective instead of a third-person perspective. He believes that the first thing the Resident Evil series is about is scaring the hell out of players and "making things scarier."
According to Nakanishi, "When the player sees the world from behind with a safe perspective, the game becomes less scary. From a first-person perspective, players can experience intense, dramatic combat, which adds to the horror of the game."
Based on Nakanishi's words, we can assume that Resident Evil 9 will once again use a first-person perspective. And director Hiroshi Nakanishi's vision is to make the new film more scary, to scare the hell out of players.
